Being a King or Queen does get some perks - one is the ability to make your own rules. For the moment, whoever makes a King/Queen for a nation first gets the household power.
Meaning, if you make your Queen before someone make your King, the Queen gets the final say on matters. She holds the power unless you, the roleplayers, mutually decide otherwise.
Moving on.
Kings/Queens can make laws about their nations. Kings/Queens can tax. Kings/Queens can decide to arrest people with brown hair because they don't like them.
Don't like what your leader is doing? Form a militia, resistance group or...well, too bad.
Currently, the Human Kingdom of Aikia has great power, and it's not uncommon for them to host diplomatic meetings, or throw parties for the other nations to show off their wealth and such.
The faeries operate a little differently. Council members technically have the same powers, but they need a
3 out of 5 majority and a public meeting about matters first.
