General Information:
Name: Baltickano Elzotch Mahltizar
Nickname: The Dragon King || Bal'Ma
Canon: Yes, the Dragon King
Gender: Male
Age: 510 Years
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Religion: Worships the Sky God, Polyephromene
Place of Birth: Inside of the lava of Mount Trentania, Terat
Place of Residence: Currently still residing in the Volcano, although he roams around Terat often.
Magic:
- Fire Manipulation: Magma Affinity: Bal'Ma is more than a dragon with simple smoke-breathing tricks. It is as if he is one with the volcano that he calls home - his scales are warm to the touch, but in fits of anger, desperation, or in the call to arms of combat, Bal can rapidly increase the heat of his body, warming up to the point where even the area immediately surrounding him can become unbearably hot. Aside from this, Bal has the innate ability to breathe brimstone and fire, summoning large pumps of magma to burn enemies into ash. Bal'Ma is completely immune to fire-and-heat magics and the lava of Mount Trentania doesn't phase him in the slightest, but as a result of his affinity for the flame he is weaker to aquatic magics than most other dragons, although not entirely crippled by it.
- Earth Manipulation: General - One of the branches of magic Bal has delved into, creating terrifying tremors and summoning forth mountainous walls of earth are within the dragon's realm of possibility. This form of magic is not specialized with him, however, and so his earth-manipulation is a general use of creating rock formations and flinging large boulders, causing earth quakes, and quick tremors.
- Mental Magic: Possession - Hundreds of years of studying the arts of magic have gifted Bal'Ma with a sort of mental-suggestion that allows him to get into the minds of others. While it is not complete and total mind-control, often this magic can allow Bal to shift people's ideas and thoughts with subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) magical persuasion. Often, he will use this to deter beings that he doesn't deem 'fit' to speak with him.

Appearances:
Skin Type: Iron-hard Scales, hardened as if made of solidified magma.
Wing Type: Bat-Like
Scars: Countless, most of which are simply chips in his scales that are too small or too dark to see.
Corrections: One can't tell from the image, but Bal is one of the largest dragons in Zerat, perhaps rivaled only by one or two others, if any.
Lineage:
Mother: One of the many mates the previous king had attracted.
Father: Bartholius Ghinseryu Mahltizar
Brothers: Handfuls of them, all dead.
Sisters: Slightly less than brothers, but they are no less dead.
Offspring: None, yet.
History: Baltickano was of the large breed of dragons hatched under the birth-name of the last Dragon King. One of many, Bal was treated no differently than his many brothers and sisters, spending the majority of his adolescent life among his guardians, who trained him and his siblings to grow into the king that would take their father's place. Trials were typically mundane - hunting for survival, or learning from the wisest of elders the island could muster. Not every dragon could make it through the preliminary education, but most did, and Bal'Ma shined amongst the brightest, alongside his brother, Gras'Ma.
Personality:
To most beings not of the Zerat island, Bal'Ma most likely seems intimidating. There are countless rumors about his power, and there are no doubt many people who would swear on their mother's lives that he is a wretched soul, but this would not be true. Bal'Ma is a protector, always was and always will be, of the dragons. He is judging and strict, stern, and rarely humors others. But he is not malicious, and he has no ulterior motives. A prestigious hunter, he enjoys a good challenge and finds combat to be exhilarating. Conflict is something he enjoys but not something he actively seeks out, and he understands that the peace the dragons have can save and mend the land-dwellers of the world beyond. However, throughout the years, Bal has become cynical and somewhat specist towards the non-dragons of the realm. He has seen their violence and their hate, and he does not trust many - if any - of them. Often, Bal is inclined to test these creatures to see if they are worthy enough to earn his time.
Dragons would not see Bal'Ma as being so evil, however. A sworn and devoted leader, he has kept the dragons afloat (no pun intended) for centuries, making sure that their problems are settled and that they remain a prosperous people. He puts great respect upon each of their shoulders, and those closest to him can even see the glimpses of his compassion, and how he truly feels for the beings he is to rule. He is not one to start wars, but you best believe that he is one to end them. When it comes to defending his land, or any of his dragons, the restraints come off. Once you have earned the ire of the Dragon King, you may not live to tell the tale. Bal believes in second chances, but if he deems a crime to be so heinous, for example, there is no chance for change in his eye. He has only visited the land-dwellers a handful of times, but on three separate occasions he has made the sky howl and the earth shiver, all to finish fighting, rather than to start it.
While he is not prideful or over-courageous, Bal's biggest downfall is easily his temper. Normally, he is mild-mannered. Neutral. While it is obvious that he never seems to get anywhere above 'tepid calm' in level of happiness, his rage is that of hell itself. It isn't incredibly easy to draw out his temper in its entirety, but simple glimpses of his anger can be enough to flatten landscapes, should he be so unrestrained. A good way to agitate him is to spill dragon blood before him - but the best way to get your entire village burned to the ground is to kill one of his own in front of his eyes. Because of this, Bal seems to only walk a thin path with those not of the Zerat island. At any moment, he could decide that maintaining their peace is fruitless and cause one of their entire civilizations to disappear. While many other dragons, including his adviser, believe that diplomacy and civility is the correct answer, Bal sees it only as the compromise. As long as his dragons stay unharmed, he doesn't care too much about what the rest of the world is doing. As soon as things get ugly, though? They will surely get uglier.
